I was a nerd...
In fourth grade, I gave a 4-H speech on
feminism and secretly wished for my eighteen birthday so I could vote. I was
already a black belt in a Korean martial art and had read every book I could
find on cats in my elementary school library.
...and I still am.
My closet has the same button-down long sleeve shirt in four
different colors, I read hard copy newspapers at every meal and spend ours
listening to spoken word poetry online (Andrea Gibson is my personal
favorite.). Most amusing to my friends and family, I play roller derby
under the alias Josie PulHitsHer. I am currently studying journalism at the University of Missouri and hope to work at a major daily news organization in the future. Old school, I know.
